About:

Along the Schuylkill River, Fairmount Water Works was built between 1812 and 1872 to provide safe, clean drinking water to a city on the cusp of remarkable growth and was in operation until 1909. Fairmount Water Works now houses a restaurant and an interpretive center that educates the public about local watershed history.

  • The You & Me Bench all week! | The “You & Me Bench” is a social experiment traveling around Philadelphia celebrating the power of meaningful relationships. Take a seat, take a pic and celebrate the power of your relationship by sharing your photo with #YouAndMeBench
  • 9/7 Indego Bike Share 5 to 9 pm | Indego will be providing unlimited bike parking at a virtual pop-up station right near Fairmount Water Works
  • 9/8 Barks on Tap PAWS Fundraiser 5 to 10 pm | Party with the Pup for this community dog party where 100% of beverage proceeds will go PAWS - hosted by the Tuttleman Family Foundation and Parks on Tap
  • 9/10 Maha Yoga at Parks on Tap 12 to 1 pm | Outdoor yoga is pay what you can and is every Saturday with Maha at Parks on Tap locations. Picnic at the park post-savasana!
  • 9/10 Indego Bike Share 5 to 9 pm | Indego will be providing unlimited bike parking at a virtual pop-up station right near Fairmount Water Works

Accessible via SEPTA bus route 38 located at Art Museum Dr. and Back Entrance.

Parking:

Limited parking available at Waterworks Drive parking lot off of Kelly Drive. Paid parking available at the Philadelphia Museum of Art garage off of Anne d’Harnoncourt Drive.
