FAQs

WHAT IS PARKS ON TAP?

Parks on Tap is Philadelphia’s mobile beer garden that gives back, created in partnership with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, Fairmount Park Conservancy and FCM Hospitality. Each season it travels to a different park every week, highlighting and enhancing the offerings that Philadelphia city parks provide, before moving to the next location. It aims for a simple aesthetic: well-kept outdoor spaces where friends and families can meet up to enjoy food, drinks and fun in a natural green space. A portion of all proceeds benefits each park.

CAN ANYONE GO TO THIS?

The beer garden is 21+ to enter. We welcome kids, families and anyone under 21 as long as they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Alcoholic beverages will stay within a fenced area. This is required for full compliance with PLCB code. You must also sign up for a free seasonal membership to Parks on Tap to enter. You can do so with our host or online a parksontap.com/membership.

WHAT IS THE SETUP LIKE?

The beer garden is self contained within roped boundaries---providing its own power, bathrooms, food and drink trucks, seating, shade and lights without use of existing park facilities.

WHAT WILL BE SERVED?

We serve a variety of local craft beers, wine and cocktails, as well as non-alcoholic beverages such as water, soda and iced tea. We also offer a full food menu with barbecue inspired sandwiches and snacks.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept all credit cards and cash. Credit cards are preferred.

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT THE PARKS?

Parks on Tap will be in one well-defined location. The public will have unlimited access to the park and to the area. Parks on Tap encourages everyone to explore new park spaces and to spend an enjoyable afternoon or evening here. Additionally, we leave the park exactly the way we found it!

ANY COST TO THE CITY?

No, FCM Hospitality shouldered all of the expenses to build Parks on Tap and operate the program. Philadelphia Parks & Recreation’s only operational expense is the hiring of seasonal employees to help with management of the program. Over the past two seasons, the program has generated income to invest in Philadelphia’s parks, without direct investment from the city.

WILL ANY OF THE REVENUE FROM PARKS ON TAP GO BACK TO THE PARK?

Yes, Parks on Tap donates a portion of all proceeds to the hosting Park Friends Group as well as to Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy. With every purchase you make at Parks on Tap, a portion of the proceeds is reinvested into Philly's parks via our partners Fairmount Park Conservancy and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation. Thanks to Parks on Tap, improvements including trail work and maintenance, tree plantings, new signage, free music and movie programs, and more were made possible.
