FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS PARKS ON TAP?
Parks on Tap is Philadelphia’s beer garden that gives back.  A partnership between Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and FCM Hospitality, Parks on Tap was created to be a traveling beer garden throughout the city's various, beautiful parks all summer long. Each park and location is collectively selected as a way to highlight and enhance the offerings that Philadelphia city parks provide. It aims for a simple aesthetic: well-kept outdoor spaces where friends and families can meet up to enjoy food, drinks and fun in a natural green space. A portion of all proceeds benefits the Philly park network.

CAN ANYONE GO TO THIS?
The beer garden is 21+ to enter with valid, government issued, photo identification. Children, families and anyone under 21 are welcome to join as long as they are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Alcoholic beverages will stay within a fenced area. This is required for full compliance with PLCB code. Parks on Tap is free to event, but guests must sign-in every visit. Daily sign in can be found HERE.

ARE THERE RESTROOMS & HOW ARE THEY CLEANED?
Parks on Tap brings a modern restroom trailer with flush toilets which is monitored and regularly cleaned and sanitized by a member of the staff.

CAN I BRING MY BIKE TO THE BEER GARDEN? No, bikes are also not permitted inside the beer garden. We do offer limited bike parking, but please bring your own lock.

AM I ALLOWED TO BRING MY OWN BLANKETS AND CHAIRS?
Guests are welcome to bring their own blankets and chairs if they’d like.

WHAT WILL BE SERVED?
Parks on Tap serves a variety of local craft beers, wine and cocktails, as well as non-alcoholic beverages such as water, lemonade and iced tea. A full food menu is available for purchase that highlights items made from locally sourced items and snacks.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS ARE ACCEPTED?
All credit cards and cash are accepted. Credit cards are preferred.

DO YOU ACCEPT RESERVATIONS?
At this time, Parks on Tap does not offer reservations. If the beer garden is at capacity during the time guests come to visit, it is recommended that they take advantage of free walking tours such as the Museum Without Walls audio tour app or following a self guided sculpture tour like the one found HERE to pass the time until they are able to be accommodated.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GET TO A PARKS ON TAP LOCATION?
Parks on Tap is located inside some of Philadelphia’s best outdoor locations. Each park is accessible via public transportation, car or ride sharing app. If driving, guests are strongly encouraged to not leave any valuables in their vehicles. Directions for the locations can be found HERE.

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT THE PARKS?
Parks on Tap will be in one well-defined location within each park. The public will have unlimited access to the park and to the surrounding park areas. Parks on Tap encourages everyone to explore new park spaces and spend an enjoyable afternoon or evening here. Parks on Tap thoroughly clean the areas used by the beer garden to leave the park exactly as it was found.

ANY COST TO THE CITY?
No, FCM Hospitality shouldered all of the expenses to build Parks on Tap and operate the program. Philadelphia Parks & Recreation’s only operational expense is the hiring of seasonal employees to help with the management of the program. Over the past six seasons, the program has generated income to invest in Philadelphia’s parks, without direct investment from the city.

WILL ANY OF THE REVENUE FROM PARKS ON TAP GO BACK TO THE PARK?
Yes, Parks on Tap donates a portion of all proceeds to Philadelphia Parks & Recreation. With every purchase you make at Parks on Tap, a portion of the proceeds is reinvested into Philly's parks via partners at Philadelphia Parks & Recreation. Thanks to this program, improvements including trail work and maintenance, tree plantings, new signage, free music, and movie programs, and more were made possible.
